If you’re not posting or engaging on LinkedIn yet, it’s time to rethink that
If you’re a Head of or Director-level professional in Australia or New Zealand and you’re not posting or engaging on LinkedIn yet, it’s time to rethink that.
This is one of the biggest missed opportunities I see.
If you want to create relationships and open doors to future roles, you need visibility beyond your immediate workplace. The people you work with already know you. The people who could hire you next don’t.
In sales, there’s a simple truth: you can’t sell a secret.
The same applies to your career. If you’re not showing up, sharing your thinking, and contributing to conversations, you are effectively hiding your expertise. And hidden talent doesn’t get approached.
I get it. It feels uncomfortable at first. You might be wondering what people will think.
But here’s the reality:
You are already an expert. You have years of experience, insights, and opinions that others want to hear.
And it’s not about chasing likes or comments.
Even if your posts get little engagement, people are still seeing them. Quiet observers. Decision-makers. Future employers. The right people.
If you consistently talk about what you do and what you believe, you will start attracting the kind of opportunities that don’t get advertised.
So if something has been holding you back, take this as your sign to start.
Visibility is the first move.
